Truth in God

The word of God excites me, invites me, encourages and unites me, convict me and incites me.
The truth of the gospel, the truth in the words, the all-powerful and mighty, the everlasting, His unending good!
The joy of salvation, the wrath of God revealed, the wonder of the manger, the cross and resurrection’s final word.
He elevates and creates us, to call us all His own, called to live out righteously for the God we call our own.
Holy, righteous, heaven sent- Christ the Savior, seated on the throne, raised to keep us from the wrath, we deserve to call our own.
The holy wrath is for our sins, but He loves us more and sure, so He sent us his true and blameless gift- mercy, grace, salvation alone.
Undeserving of a loving God he loves us, nonetheless, out of love he cares for us, He created us to bless.
Purposed and so powerful, he loves us with no need for rest, He’s not reckless or unintentional, He knows what’s for our best
A workmanship of God’s own hands, we crave to know His love, whether we’re aware of this or we’re blinded from the world.
Our heart receives salvation, we meet the heart of God, His mercy is anew for us, we’re blessed by a sovereign God!
How sweet the smell, the love of God, the glory He provides, the chance to share it with the world, longing for purpose found only in God.
Praise God for being true to us, even when we’re not, praise God for being who He is, so loving and so just.
A contrast oh so stark and rich, shows what we deserve, but then provides a way to share with us, the glory He has meant.
Oh praise the one who built my soul to crave Him from the start, to open up His arms for me while knowing my whole heart.
Oh praise the one who knew that we were dirtied by the world, swayed by all the broken things that kept us from His word.
Oh praise above the mighty storm that tries to pull us down, the Father who’s unshakable, and never lets us drown.
Oh Father, keep drawing near to us, draw us near to you, for what we think is good for us is nill compared to you.
